First Day of School!
er...I mean...Puppy Match! In mid-August, Connery and his Cardigan pals headed for their first puppy match. Puppy matches don't count for title points, but they do give a young dog (and a novice handler like moi) the chance to practice show skills in a less formal venue. This Prescott match gave Connery the opportunity to take in the spectacle of dogs and shade shelters, experience the kind of heat we don't get up here in Flagstaff, and demonstrate that he understands (at least on a basic level) the things that will be asked of him in the show ring--gaiting, stacking, and looking adorable.
I don't have any pictures of Connery in the ring, so here's the next best thing: relaxing in his very own crate after his moments of glory.
I did get photos of Panda (Cheysuli's Peekaboo Blue), one of Connery's travel-pals. Here she and her handler are exhibiting extreme tension in the show ring while awaiting Panda's turn to be examined by the judge. We call this a Panda Noodle. 
But when she gets to the table...so pretty! 
Back at the shade shelter--which has been lowered against a rising wind--Sad Connery wishes it was still All About Him. 
Or maybe he's just looking at this sky and pondering the consequences of showing during the monsoon. 
Connery Thought Beam: COOKIES! COOKIES! 
And here he is back at home, proving it hasn't all gone to his head. Still A Goof.
