Hello, ReaderFolk!
Things
on the homestead and the webstead are hopping, with lots of unexpected changes
in play. It means
a precipitous end to our agility trialing season in spite of great fun so far--though
Belle is having a blast with her semi-retirement after earning her PAX, and
Connery's ongoing fear-rehab work from last fall's attack is beginning to
show faint but definite signs of success. Here
he is in a photo by Bruce McClelland (BAMfoto), navigating the weave poles
with nimble presence. He's not actually making a face there--that's just what
happens when he's relaxed and centrifugal force goes to work!
First draft of Reckoners moves
steadily onward! Boy, I can't wait to share this book...it's made itself so
fun to write! The seasonal monsoon storms provided plenty of atmosphere and
now we're into a gorgeous fall, less windy than many.
Want some more good news? Next year will bring not two, but three Nocturne Sentinel books. The first two, Jaguar
Night and Lion Heart, will be joined by a third--tentatively titled Wolf
Song. And there'll be a brand new series starting up, too, with the book Demon
Blade.
And
to continue the Beagle theme of the month...here's the cover to Scent
of Danger!
Does that little face perhaps look familiar? Not that I went wild with the
camera or anything...and to think, Five Star liked it, too! Such a giggle!

Dale Kinsall considers himself adjusted to his new location--to the eccentric
nature of his clinic staff, to the altitude and climate of the high desert,
to his new role in his community. The vet who solved the eco-murders. Of course,
he doesn't anticipate the threatening series of bizarre rhyming notes on his
desk, or the cavalier attitude of the local cops who are embarrassed that
they didn't solve those particular eco-murders. Soon enough, everything's happening
at once: the clinic is upside down over renovations, Laura's nephew is deathly
ill, and then Laura herself is hit by the same feared virus shortly before
Dale is blindsided in a brutal attack. Dale is the only one who thinks it might
not all be coincidence...but everyone else pretty much thinks he's nuts.
Everyone but Sully Beagle, that is. For Sully knows cookies, and he knows
what's his...and he knows the scent of danger.
And HIDDEN STEEL is still gathering interest!
"HIDDEN STEEL twists
and turns and surprises from the very first page...Doranna Durgin has become
an author of interest for this reader with her very romantic and suspenseful
HIDDEN STEEL."
