SUCH FUN.
We have a kitty who will occasionally chase balls across the living room and bring them back … but she drops them just out of reach, and expects us to get up and retrieve them from there.
Actually, Belle does that too. But it’s not because she expects me to get it–it’s because she’s just a little too submissive to bring it all the way back.
However, Connery knows she does this, so he just waits for his moment to snatch the ball and bring it to me…
Wow…and here I though my cat children were so special because they play hockey with whatever roach is stupid enough to come into the house.
To be fair they do play with balls, but its not fetch…its more, “Mommy, throw it and I’ll play and then you need to find it and throw it again.”
But then…they are all getting up there in years…and they are cats…so I shouldn’t expect fetching. After all, according to the saying, ‘Dogs have owners, Cats have staff’, I’m technically just staff…which means I need to get up and throw the ball for the youngest cat child again.

Indeed, it is good when we recognize our place in the grand scheme of things…
