Merry Christmas!

Patty Wilber

We got some snow this past week! My really amazing deck built by Peter Harris was begging to be photographed as the edge of the sky went tangerine over the mountains.  Unfortunately, my little box camera (or my use of said camera) did not capture the full grandeur of the sky.  The deck part is a winner, though.

There were other stunning scenery moments over the last few days that I didn’t even try to photograph:

The snow-bow (yep a rainbow while it was rain-snowing)–that touched down right in the middle of the rincon where we live;

The sparkle snow.  It was as if small crystals were falling from the sky while the rays of the sun lit them up so they decorated the air with glitter–really, I am not kidding;

The gold light-draped trees on one evening.

The scenery gods were having some fun!

There was enough rain and snow to knock down the dust and make it seem like winter!

I did appreciate the earlier-in-the-month warm riding weather, but I am starting to panic about about the lack of snow leading to a dearth of irrigation water and thus another spike in the price of hay…especially since I have five horses now–three are for sale??

Supposing the World hasn’t done this today (Just because the Mayan Calendar ran out of dates):

I did want to wish every one a Merry Christmas and share some Holiday Cheer!

(Which could be hard liquor but in this case will be photographs!)

Toots (the reindeer) is the same height as Lacey (Santa's helper). The angle just makes it seem like Toots is a mini!

    I have seen some amazing sun rises since we have had our horses out in the East Mountains. Thanks to them I get out early to feed before getting ready work. It always seems to be just about sun rise before I get back into the house.
