Hawaii!
By Patty Wilber
How I spent my Christmas vacation! Oahu, Hawaii with the whole family!
No riding at all--barely even saw horses–but of course got a picture when we did.
I passed a barn that advertised reined cow horses. Turns out they breed bulls for professional rodeo, too. I might stop in there next time I go–this time I got my info off the internet.
I took a vacation from just about everything I normally do. Instead:
I snorkled.
I climbed 3000 steps in the dark (started at 2:30 am to avoid the guard) to a lookout to see the sunrise….then we decided the waiting wasn’t worth it….The hike was enough all by itself! (It was actually cold up that high in the clouds in the dark in the wind in case you are wondering about my non-tropical garb!)
Hung out with the family!

Boats are fun--as long as they don't rock on the water at all! And, no I did not throw up. Just felt kind of bleh!
Saw whales, turtles, dolphins and lots of fish!
Met The Boyfriend. Actually we stayed at his place.
Swam, sea kayaked, stand up paddle boarded, but didn’t get around to surfing.
For my next Hawaiian adventure: I want to learn to kiteboard. It looks pretty hard, so my plan is: Kiteboard Camp!
Who Hoo!
And next week, back to our regularly scheduled program.
